The Recruitment Industry Disability Initiative (RIDI) has one purpose, to break down the barriers faced by millions of disabled people who are entering or progressing through the job market by creating disability confident recruiters.

RIDI was founded in 2011 and is a national programme to safeguard and progress opportunities for disabled job seekers. Founded and chaired by Kate Headley, Director of the Clear Company and a UK government Disability and Access Ambassador; RIDI’s short term strategy is to deliver authentic disability inclusion and equity by supporting the recruitment community to be confident and capable in attracting disabled

 

RIDI Pioneers

RIDI Pioneers are leading the movement of change to drive greater disability confidence in recruitment. Becoming a Pioneer is an unprecedented sponsorship opportunity to work within the Recruitment Industry Disability Initiative (RIDI) and progress disability inclusion. RIDI invite a partner organisation and their aspiring leaders with a shared commitment to disability inclusion to join the RIDI Executive and collaborate with established inclusion leaders across the public and private sectors.

This is a key role in shaping Disability Confidence in recruitment and building a sustainable sector strategy, consistent with the work of RIDI Chair, Kate Headley as UK Government Disability and Access Ambassador for the recruitment sector.

A 2-year sponsorship term for one organisation at £15,000 per year, the RIDI Pioneers Champion post will be rotated every 6 months allowing 4 individuals to benefit.

The role

RIDI Pioneers Champion is a leadership opportunity for those with influence and a commitment to disability inclusion. Literally to pioneer the sector to lead the way in disability confidence and enable recruiters to own and work to a recognised standard. Join us and work from within RIDI - we support and implement new ideas and realise we don’t know everything!

The RIDI Pioneers Champion will in return:

  • Be a member of the RIDI Executive team.
  • Be recognised as a RIDI Gold Partner.
  • Be instrumental in supporting the Cabinet Office’s, sector Disability and Access Ambassador.
  • Inspire, influence, and amplify RIDI Pioneers message to enable long-term change.
  • Establish a baseline and a stretch goal for disability inclusive recruitment.
  • Commitment

Up to 6 days per year which includes:

  • Attendance at 4 RIDI Executive meetings, these are planned well in advance and held online.
  • Attendance at quarterly online RIDI Pioneers forums.
  • Speaking and presenting an award at the RIDI Awards.
  • Thought leadership and sector-level profile.
